'Brick & Basil Pizzeria' started with a simple dream: to bring authentic Neapolitan pizza to Leicester. Founded by the Smith family in 1985, our pizzeria began as a small, family-run spot with recipes handed down through generations.
Our founder, Liam Smith, discovered the art of pizza making during travels across Italy, studying under master pizzaiolos in Naples—the birthplace of pizza. Upon returning to the UK, she was determined to recreate the magic of genuine Italian pizza, employing traditional methods and the finest ingredients.
What began as a modest 12-seat pizzeria has grown into a beloved local landmark, but our commitment to quality and authenticity has never wavered. We still use time-honored wood-fired oven techniques, make our dough fresh daily, and source the highest-quality ingredients available.
Today, 'Brick & Basil Pizzeria' remains family-owned and operated, with the second generation of the Smith family now guiding our passionate team. While we've adopted some modern innovations, the core of our business remains unchanged: creating delicious, authentic pizza that brings people together.
